    RAW Results – August 17, 2015

    – The announcers talk about Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, confirming both will be here later tonight. We see Taker’s return at Battleground last month and their recent brawl on RAW. Up next, Taker will speak. Back to commercial.

    – Back from the break and we hear the druids and see The Undertaker somewhere talking. He says when The Reaper calls your name, it’s just over for you. Taker addresses Brock Lesnar, saying his name has been called and at SummerSlam, he will never… rest in peace.

    – Back from the break and Paul Heyman is in the ring. He says he’s the host for tonight’s Brock Lesnar homecoming. Heyman does the introduction and out comes The Beast to a big pop from the hometown crowd.

Lesnar makes his way out as streamers and confetti fall from the rafters. Lesnar takes a lap around the ring before making his way in. The music stops as fans stand for Lesnar and a “Suplex City” chant starts up. Heyman drops to his knees and praises Lesnar. Heyman sings his own version of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” for Lesnar. Suddenly the bells toll and the lights go out. They come back on and Heyman is cowering in fear on the apron. Lesnar looks around and laughs but there is no Taker.

Fans chant “Suplex City” again as Heyman takes the mic. He asks if that’s the best Taker has. Heyman says Taker can bring God and the Devil to SummerSlam but Lesnar will take all three of them to Suplex City. Heyman goes on and on with his promo but the bell tolls and the lights go out again. This time they come back on and Taker is standing there. He kicks Lesnar with a low blow and fans boo. We see Heyman watching from the floor. Taker stalks Lesnar and nails a chokeslam when he gets up. Some fans pop but there are mostly boos for Taker it seems like. Lesnar gets up again and Taker nails a Tombstone piledriver to more boos. Taker drops to one knee over Lesnar as the lights go down and his music hits. Taker makes his exit and stops on the stage to look back at Lesnar recovering in the ring. Taker stops and faces the back before raising his fist in the air. RAW goes off the air.

    source: Allwrestling.com

I can see people continuing to think Taker’s turning heel because of the boos. We live in an era where you can’t really distinguish whether a talent’s a face or a heel base on fan reaction. Cena’s supposed to be the top face in the company, yet he gets booed by 50%. Today’s fans change their mind at the drop of a dime. Point is Taker’s NOT turning heel, not now. A Taker heel turn now is just like WCW turning Sting heel in 1999 – too late. Taker was booed because RAW was in Lesnar’s hometown. Until the talent rips on the hometown crowd, they will get cheered in their hometown as evidenced here tonight.

Tonight, Taker had the last laugh. That doesn’t make me happy. Usually the one set up to lose at the PPV has the last laugh on the go-home show. Therefore because Taker had the upperhand tonight, he may lose Sunday if tradition is any indication. However, I loved Taker’s promo and the physicality. Lesnar got taken to Tombstone City again tonight.

Now I anxiously await to hear Lesnar’s thoughts tomorrow on ESPN. I really hope to get insight from his perspective on WM30 too as well as his thoughts on Taker, in the ring and backstage.

      To Anan:

You’re right about Brock Lesnar, taken to Tombstone City again Tonight. Correct me if I am wrong but on the last Raw before Wrestlemania 30, Brock Lesnar had the upper hand and he still won at Wrestlemania 30. I know the Undertaker said at the end of the match about pin me or something like that?

    • LemVonDoom on August 18th, 2015 says:

Same here. I have a bad feeling for Taker at Summerslam after what just happened. Still gonna watch Summerslam though and hope he still wins.

    • Anan on August 18th, 2015 says:

      @Mark Petrick:

Yes. But when that segment was done leading into WM30, the plan was still for Lesnar to lose. Vince’s decision for Lesnar to win was made 4 hours before and by that time, that segment was already done. So that’s one of of few exceptions.

I’ll have my Summerslam predictions up tomorrow. So keep an eye out.

    • Mark Petrick on August 18th, 2015 says:

      To LemVonDoom:

We will see what happens, that’s all you can do at this point. We will see, how it plans out. I hope the Undertaker, gets revenge on Brock Lesnar at Summerslam!!!

    • Mark Petrick on August 18th, 2015 says:

      To Anan:

Yeah I forgot about Vince making the decision for Brock Lesnar to win, four hours before Wrestlemania 30 started. My fault. Sorry about that.

    • Mark Petrick on August 18th, 2015 says:

      To Anan:

I will look out for them, thanks!

    • Aarron on August 18th, 2015 says:

Very flat ending in my opinion, can’t really blame the crowd for booing Taker after the low blow, Minneapolis has not been friendly to Taker in recent years. When’s the last time we heard a crowd boo Undertaker like that? I know it was by design but it was awkward.
      Taker looks in great shape!

    • BillyofMaryland on August 18th, 2015 says:

I see “the kick in the nuts” differently. Remember, Undertaker is still “the Hybrid,” and he’s taken it from dark and supernatural like during the Legend Killer feud, and the match with CM Punk in HIAC. but its kind of him being a biker again, saying “ain’t that a kick in the nuts.” I think Undertaker will win, and he’ll either win clean, or dirty. I don’t know if Sting will appear during, or after the match, or on Raw the next night, if Taker’s even on the show. When it happens, I expect kind of a Mexican standoff :).

    • daks on August 18th, 2015 says:

As far as I think it’s not necessary that a person who has the last laugh before a ppv goes on to lose at the ppv, bcoz many times a person who had the last laugh before the ppv has gone on to win the ppv,but yes somewhere I do feel they might just plan for taker to lose especially when he low blowed lesnar for the second time which I thought was unnecessary & it made lesnar look more powerful & favorite to win.Nonetheless i hope the undertaker wins cleanly at summerslam & the feud ends.

    • Etienne on August 18th, 2015 says:

I also have a bad feeling about all this… It does point to Taker taking the fall at summer slam… I thought they would have Brock take the upper hand here but he ended up being the one being taken down… It usually is true that the one who gets the last blow in before the big match losses… But that’s not always the case… It’s just hard to see where they’re going with this.

    • Aarron on August 18th, 2015 says:

Forgot to mention I loved the promo from Undertaker! It was very reminiscent from the promo Undertaker cut on Yokozuna leading up to the 1994 Royal Rumble! It was a nostalgia. Sure Taker ended up losing that match with the help of 2/3 of the locker room back then but let’s hope for a W this Sunday!

    • Jess on August 18th, 2015 says:

So Taker got the upper hand, this is a weird one because it can lead to two things, Taker losing or Taker winning. I hope it’s gonna lead to Taker winning on Sunday, I’d hate to see him lose against Brock again and never beat him at a ppv. I do find it strange that he got the upper hand…but we’ll soon find out, let’s hope he wins.

The booing by the crowd was expected due to Raw being in Minnesota, Lesnar’s home town. I didn’t mind the booing, it was different from the cheers. This “new” Undertaker is pretty bad ass.

    • Piyush on August 18th, 2015 says:

I believe that Taker getting an upper hand is just a way to showcase that he is back and dominating again and i am sure he will win cleanly at Summerslam.

    • karentaker on August 18th, 2015 says:

I certainly wasn’t booing Taker last night. In fact I was cheering him like crazy. I have to agree with a lot of you here. Taker has to win at Summerslam. I can’t speak for others out there who regularly watch Raw. I’m so pissed off with Heymans boasting and gloating about how ‘his client’ Brock Lesnar beat Taker, broke ‘the streak’ and on and on. We’ve had to put up with that bullshit for over a year and a half now. PLEASE WWE, LET TAKER PUT AN END TO IT. It’s got to a point now, that everytime I see Paul Heyman, I have to go and make a drink, otherwise, I’ll either throw something at the TV, or I’ll start to pull my hair out. Taker, do us a favour please. If you get to Tombstone Lesnar on Sunday, can you do the same to ‘Poison mouth, Hayman’ and put an end to this misery?

    • Anan on August 18th, 2015 says:

I think we’re all looking at the win/loss all wrong. Taker is not coming back to avenge The Streak. The Streak’s broken. That’s it. He’s accepted it, saying the painful truth is streaks are made to be broken. No matter how many times Taker beats Brock in a match, it won’t erase that loss. He’s targeting Lesnar because he’s angry that they’ve been bragging about WM30 for 15 months.

Taker may not care at Summerslam for simply winning a match. Remember Summerslam 2000? Taker and Kane fought to a no contest as the match never really began. Taker didn’t care. He got paypack on Kane. I can see Lesnar not being able to put Taker away and Heyman saying that’s enough and just backing Lesnar up with Taker stalking them with his slow-mo walk to extend the feud. Really, I just want it to end before WM32. IMO, there should NOT be a Taker-Lesnar match at WM32.

The low blow…..Taker using a low blow displays to me a desperate Taker who’ll do anything to win and man, beast or hybrid, a desperate man does desperate things and desperate times call for desperate measures.

    • Mark Petrick on August 18th, 2015 says:

      To Anan:

      You’re right Anan, right on.

    • daks on August 18th, 2015 says:

You are right here,it definitely makes taker look desperate for a win & I hope he does.

    • Taker's # 1 fan on August 18th, 2015 says:

These fans are idiots if they are booing Taker and if they think their boos will affect Taker or his character. Taker is above heels and faces, and whatever he does is right! Go to hell you Lesnar’s hometown idiotic fans.

    • Anan on August 18th, 2015 says:

Then again, we can see something identical to WM14….Lesnar loses the match, leaves Summerslam with the last laugh. Or Taker loses the match, leaves with the last laugh.

I just don’t see WWE ending this at Summerslam. We all know WWE capitalizes on something as hot as this as milks every bit of it. I just don’t want it extended all the way to WM32.

    • Gareth Thyer on August 18th, 2015 says:

Perhaps WWE are trying to swerve the “smart fans”, by Taker getting the upper hand, so the majority thinks he’ll lose at Summerslam. This might not mean a thing but various betting sites still have Taker to get the win at Summerslam. He was the same at WM30 but a few hours before the event Brock became the clear favourite so it maybe a good idea to keep an eye on that.

Even though it’s pointing to a Brock win, I’m still gonna stick with Taker winning… And cleanly. I do see a big aftermath ending much like when Taker sent Edge to “hell” from Summerslam 2008.

    • Jess on August 18th, 2015 says:

That’s a nice idea! I’d like to see this happen too, Brock deserves to be sent to hell.

    • Mike b on August 19th, 2015 says:

I don’t care if low blow or not, tired how domient wwe has been making him..doesn’t matter how gets done folks it’s just pin him or submit him. Plain and simple.. And yea folks boo him becuz Brock’s home town and every where else taker gets more face cheers

    • Mark Petrick on August 19th, 2015 says:

      To Jess And Mike B:

You’re right Jess, it’s about time Undertaker shuts up Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, once and for all! And Mike B, Undertaker did give Brock Lesnar two low blows, one at Battleground and one last night but who cares like you said because that is what the Undertaker wanted to do. And yes, Undertaker got booed last night on Raw because it was in Brock Lesnar’s hometown.

    • Anan on August 19th, 2015 says:

      @Gareth Thyer:

It’s possible WWE’s swerving the “smarks.” Then again it’s also possible that we’re seeing a reverse of WM30. Durign the build to WM30, Lesnar had the last laugh. But at that time, he was still planned to lose. The decision for him to win was made on WM Sunday, 4 hours before. Maybe this time, the plan was for Taker to have the last laugh as he’s currently scripted to lose, but at SSlam Sunday, just hours before, a change will be made and the plan will be for Taker to win. Who knows?

Sending Lesnar to Hell….I think Lesnar will already be on hiatus after Summerslam, win or lose unless they have big plans which call for him to continue being on TV after this Sunday. I’m ok with Taker defeating Lesnar to shut him up. If anyone needs to be sent to Hell, it’s Heyman. He’s the one who’s been bragging for 15 months.

    • Mark Petrick on August 19th, 2015 says:

      To Anan:

I agree of what you said Anan, your whole post! The odds might change, a couple hours before Summerslam and have Undertaker as the favorite and Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, can both go to hell. Hopefully the Undertaker, will shut up Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman.

    • Thy Serpent on August 19th, 2015 says:

Like others, I too don’t have a good feeling about this. However, there have been instances where a wrestler did get an upper hand and still won at the PPV. I cannot recall which ones, but do remember there were a few.

    • Mark Petrick on August 19th, 2015 says:

      To Thy Serpent:

Like you said Thy, Undertaker got the upperhand on Brock Lesnar, last night on Raw and Undertaker still can beat Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. We will see what happens.

    • Anan on August 20th, 2015 says:

      @Thy SerpentL

A few instances, yes. But like I said, that isn’t the norm. In any case, I cannot see WWE letting the fans go home unhappy. It’s just not good business. And NY’s been very good to WWE so the crowd here deserve to go home happy just as much as any other crowd.

By the way, this coming Monday is Vince’s birthday. I totally see the roster/company throwing him an off the air birthday celebration after Summerslam ends. If they do, I don’t think Taker will send Lesnar or Heyman to Hell because think of how it’ll look if they are going to attend the celebration, for them to come back out as if nothing’s wrong and have a good time. Not a good way to sell a big Summerslam moment. And you know WWE will milk the hell out of Taker sending Lesnar and Heyman to Hell.

There’s always the chance they’ll turn Vince’s birthday into a segment during the show Monday or have the celebration after RAW goes off the air. But I remember in 2000 or 2001, they had it the night of Summerslam after the PPV cameras stopped. The off air segment was on Youtube.

    • Just another mankind on August 23rd, 2015 says:

I dont see any big issue abt the low blows. maybe some newer fans are

Ive seen the days where fans booed Taker like fuck. threw trash to him&Kane as they walked down the ramp. &Ive seen Taker did worst things than low blows. these are not a weird sight to me. so i dont get it, all the hate abt how Taker had to resort to low blows etc etc..

give the man a fucking break. he does what he wants, when he wants. This is some sort of aggression frm Undertaker that i missed. u know. Taker’s like, fuck it. i got nothing to lose. Boo me all u want. *low blows*

&if any of these so called fans, got butthurt seeing low blows. i suggest u guys pls watch his classic works. his early days, Ministry of Darkness, the heel Big Evil days. They booed Taker louder in those days&he did some bad shit as well. if u cant handle this version of Taker, idk if u can handle those.
