The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

RAW Review – Taker Confronts The McMahons
– Back from the break and out comes Vince McMahon to the ring. He makes Lilian introduce him again. He tells us to imagine the night after WrestleMania 32 if Shane McMahon comes out to announce a new era in WWE. Vince says that would just be a dream or a nightmare. He says the only person standing in the ring the night after WrestleMania will be him, Mr. McMahon. Vince continues to get the “what?” treatment. Vince says he will be gloating because his son’s dreams will be crushed. Vince goes on and says the best part is he doesn’t have to lay a glove on Shane, someone else is doing it for him. Vince calls him the most depraved in the history of WWE and Vince’s own personal instrument of destruction. Vince introduces The Undertaker and the bells toll, the lights go out as Taker makes his entrance.
Vince looks on as Taker enters the ring and stares him down. Fans chant for Taker. After what happened last time, Vince tells Taker to never put his hands on him again. Taker takes his coat off and fans pop. He removes the hat next and gives Vince a look like only Taker can. Vince is apologizing now. Vince says Taker knows him and knows his name. Vince knows Taker doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty and doing the devil’s work. He knows Taker won’t mind destroying Shane in Hell In a Cell. Vince says some might call this an unholy alliance but he simply calls it what’s best for business. The music hits and out comes Shane McMahon to a pop.
Shane enters the ring and dances around Vince, keeping his eye on Taker. Vince tells the crowd to shut up and they boo him. Shane says Vince is definitely not what’s best for business anymore. Shane says he does find himself in the match of a lifetime at WrestleMania, against The Undertaker. Shane says he’s been watching a lot of Taker footage, trying to figure out how to beat him. Shane thinks he has it figured out. He’s going to use his mind. Shane botches his promo a bit as he tells Taker how he’s going to beat him. Shane says as long as he has a heart he’s fighting for his children and the fans’ children, for the future and the legacy of WWE. Taker grabs the mic and says that still won’t be enough. Taker says what he has is these… his fists. Taker says even more than WrestleMania itself, these are his legacy. Shane admits Taker has done a lot for WWE and that’s why he’s surprised Taker is here dancing around like Vince’s puppet. Taker says no one, including Vince, controls him. Shane says it looks different from where he’s standing. Shane says he has the misfortune of being Vince’s son but Taker is just Vince’s bi###. Taker grabs Shane and goes for a chokeslam. Shane slides out and backs Taker into the corner with a bunch of punches. Taker turns it around but Shane slides out again. Vince pushes Shane from behind and Taker catches him. Taker drops Shane with a chokeslam. Taker stares at Vince and goes after him but Vince retreats to the floor. Taker’s music hits as the lights go and the lightning hits. Vince looks on from the entrance and smiles back at the ring as Taker stands over Shane. Taker stares back at Vince with the WrestleMania banner in the background as RAW goes off the air.

Taker stated no one including Vince controls him, got physical with Shane that ended with him standing over Shane after hitting a Chokeslam. Loved it! Can’t wait till what they do in the ring together on the 28th, the last RAW before WM32. Hope it’s something along this.

Taker doesn’t look like he is good shape and his hair dye needs work. Can’t believe I am saying is but that Mohawk look suited him better. Hope he gets a better look by Mania. And is Taker really going to sell those fake punches by Shane? Sadly taker hasn’t had a good Mania match since his match against Punk at WM 29, and I feel like the misfortune will continue this year. How much can a 46 year old Shane bump?
- yousif on March 16th, 2016 says:
Is wwe is lost and don’t know what are they doing ?
The way this match is going. As we saw on raw . It seems is either 1 for 2 things
1 we are going a great match full of surprises
2 we are going to see of one of the worst matches of all time at WM
I hope first one is right ..
- Anan on March 17th, 2016 says:
@yousif:
Then you were apparently disappointed, That’s too bad. I liked the segment. This segment was better than the one where Taker returned which I liked too.
@HTM:
The feud’s between Vince and Shane. Taker’s caught in the middle because he was chosen by Vince to be Shane’s WM opponent. Taker doesn’t care about Vince, Shane or their rivalry. He’s doing what he’s always done – go to WM to claim another victim. He made it clear by now that his plans for Shane have nothing to do with Vince.
@Joel:
Nice fantasy. I would love for that to happen as it’d bring about a much better product on a yearly basis. But I very seriously doubt a part-time Undertaker who has a family and life outside WWE would want to live the schedule that comes with controlling RAW.
- yousif on March 17th, 2016 says:
@anan
The segment was good if we take it just a segment . What I didn’t like is the way this match is building up
The Idea behind the match was McMohan putting his son in an impossible match to win. That’s OK
But from takers point of view . This situation is not explained well .
He is saying no 1 controls him still he is fighting some one who never challenged him !
Takers mix reactions Is unexplained to audience which leaves the build up of this match weak. For me
What is explained here is how the match is going to be like!Shane said it how . Shane will make taker to miss during the match till he get frustrated then Shane uses body as weapon and heart.! What a detailed explanation!!!but why!!!
Now we now what will be the style of the match killing excitement again for me!
In past these unexplained storylines were so do difficult to work ! But now everything is ok . Now Vince can announce taker vs Shane. And all the offical sites are updated offically adding Shane vs taker . At WM!
the continuity and explanation of the storylines and wrestlers characters are mixed or messed up.
Only taker vs brock build up was good for summer slam and looked personal still hell in a cell match was just announced before even they showed up live and explain the reason behind it . And who should challenging who this time!
I don’t know whats wrong with wwe in shaping up the matched and leaving them unexplained to the audience . Now it’s just like the match is fixed!
- yousif on March 17th, 2016 says:
@survivor
Mmmm .. and
John cena helping Shane as a heel? May be
May be . Your prediction is logical.
But again if this is what will happen. Then this is another downfall in wwe storylines.
Because Vince made this match and if he is helping his son to win then its completly meaningless.
And then brand split
Shane controls raw . Stephenie controls smackdown
… it’s logical and understandable prediction. .
As we all know wwe is not going to change its product and content as Shane claimed he will do if wins .. but winning as a heel means go on with the same thing.

news today on wrestling inc. that the Icon Sting will retire…and may announce it at his hall of fame induction.I loved seeing him compete in wwe…sad that we never got the dream match with Undertaker.He is one of the all-time greats.A true legend and real class act.On my Mt.Rushmore of Pro Wrestling,he is right next to The Phenom.Taker my all-time #1…Sting my all-time #2…
thank you Stinger…you will be missed.

Did anyone see the Wyatt Cryptic message on Smackdown? I hope this doesn’t mean Taker’s being screwed over again? Also, Anan, I’ve got a question for you. I’ve been coming to this site for years and reading the comments section, and you always do give quite the insight so if I might ask, what do you think will happen at WrestleMania 32 at this point? Now, I know it would be hard to tell and it may be a bold prediction but based on what you believe and your instincts is Taker winning or losing? I hope that he wins as not only do I think a loss to Shane would further tarnish his record (although that doesn’t matter as he’s had an amazing career) and it would also tarnish Brock’s accomplishment of ending it as he will no longer be the one but “one of two”. Also, seeing it being Taker’s home state, I’m sure people will go bat crazy if he lost no matter who it was but to Shane of all people. However, I can say this, I am enjoying the storyline. I do think there are possibilities of a screwjob but I’m hoping not. Also, others can reply to this too, I would like to know everyone’s predictions. Here’s mine, as much as I see possibilities of screwjobs happening, it is going to be in Texas and I think to send the Texas fans home happy, I believe Taker will walk out 23-1.
- Anan on March 18th, 2016 says:
@The Last Outlaw:
Once the card is finalized, I’ll have a Predictions blog up with as little or as much detail as possible. It’ll probably be up the weekend of WM, most likely the day of the event. So keep a lookout for it. Your question(s) to me will be answered there.
- Robyn on March 18th, 2016 says:
What happened to “Taker Fans” just being thankful that he’s having another match. All the comments I’ve read so far are nitpicking at the smallest details of both the storyline he’s in and his appearance in general.
Im just glad he’s having another match and Mania, and thus far there’s been no talk of retirement.
- Anan on March 18th, 2016 says:
@Robyn:
People are upset that Shane’s the opponent, came out of nowhere and don’t understand the build because they feel Taker hasn’t explained why he’s competing in the match. Taker’s never turned down a challenge, that’s why he’s competing. No other explanation needed.
I was upset at first, not anymore. But I’m still not for or against it.
- Anan on March 19th, 2016 says:
@Robyn:
That may be true for some people. There’s some Taker vs Lesnar IV supporters too so that could also play a factor in not wanting Taker vs Shane. The thing about that is it’s not happening. If they were going to have an unnecessarily very bad for business 4th Taker vs Lesnar, that would have been set up and officially announced now instead of Lesnar vs Ambrose meaning Shane wouldn’t have returned to compete against Taker. A lot of the anti-Taker vs Shane is because Taker’s facing a part-timer in Shane who doesn’t have the experience Taker has which is true. Shane was never really a wrestler in my eyes. He was more of a stuntman as he was good at stunt like movies and taking bumps and high risks, etc. That’s not really wrestling. But any Taker match, even against Shane is better than no Taker at WM.
People need to realize Shane was a desperation, last minute Plan C. Cena was plan A, but got injured. Strowman was reportedly Plan B. No doubt that was a Vince Mcmahon call. But due to fan backlash, it was rightfully nixed. Had Rollins, Cesaro, Orton not been injured, possibly one of them would have gotten the match with Taker and I’d welcome any one of them. But we have Taker vs Shane. Don’t like it, don’t watch it. Complaints, rants, etc won’t change Vince’s decision. It is what it is. Deal with it. There’s more important things to focus on in life than wrestling.
- yousif on March 19th, 2016 says:
@anan
Taker never turned down a challenge. .?
But who challenged him this time? !!!! He was just added to the match .
This is how the storyline is here .
That’s why I am upset because of The match build up
Not only me
. Watch this below. .
http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2625793-wwe-must-quickly-improve-build-up-of-confusing-undertaker-vs-shane-mcmahon-feud
I am ok with the match as long as it’s a good story and build up Shane vs taker must come with great build up . IA m sure you agree with me ..
About brock vs taker 4 . I am sure it will happen ..
One more thing .
Last time you said you want to see taker vs Kane as Kane is fresh opponent
But since when Kane became fresh opponent for taker!
So for me it’s same idea taker will face brock with totally different situation so don’t worry about taker brock 1 2 3 ..and part 4
Don’t forget it’s not even taker vs brock 4 . Taker faced brock before 1 on 1 in 2 straight PPVs before in 2002
What I mean to say taker vs brock will not be like part 4 or something.
Good bye sting . Thank you
- Robyn on March 19th, 2016 says:
@Anan
Who said I was complaining? I’m just not understanding the hate behind this. It’s not hard to understand the storyline. Shane comes back and threatens to take Vince’s business, so Vince turns to the one person who’s been loyal to him from the get go and has done EVERY single storyline that’s been stuck in front of him(no matter how dumb they are) without complaining.
- Mike b on March 19th, 2016 says:
Segment wasn’t bad, better then other segments in the past, just just missing takers end, like should of been more like taker controlling smack down if iffy smack down sorta becomes its own kinda brand again.. Idk just felt like Shane has something work for and taker doesn’t..
- Mike b on March 20th, 2016 says:
Also did read on interested that if if its true, there’s bigger part of this story Shane/taker fued that behind the sence is that Vince is sorta trying get back more in control since he’s daughter and triple hbtook more over few years ago and Vince felt kick to the curve and at wrestle mania Vince pretty much in story line help Shane win and have father/Shane era begin. Cuz back story Vince really wants he’s son taker over with Vince cuz how triple h and he’s daughter been running the company hasn’t been so hot lately..
- Thy Serpent on March 21st, 2016 says:
Well, seeing how this is going, here’s a few things that I think may happen.
1) ‘Taker beats Shane and nothing untoward happens.
2) ‘Taker wins and McMahon gets someone to beat up Undertaker after the match for daring to lay his hands on him. Might culminate into a feud between Undertaker and that wrestler.
3) This is pretty far fetched. McMahon interferes and causes Undertaker to lose. It is then revealed that he and Shane were in this together and it was all a plan to get rid of The Undertaker for whatever the reason. McMahon fires him after that.
I think Anan did mention the possibility of the mean street posses making an appearance to help Shane. I think that cannot be ruled out. It would be cool if that happened. Kinda of a throw back.
- Anan on March 21st, 2016 says:
@yousif:
Taker doesn’t like the internet. He’s a private person and the internet is the opposite of that. Any Taker account you see on the internet is an imposter. Taker is not going to announce his retirement to the world. He’s not that kind of guy.
@Thy Serpent:
I partially agree with you.
1. If Taker wins and Shane sticks around and is intent on controlling RAW, he’ll find another way. Mcmahons don’t give up so easily.
2. If Taker wins and Vince is happy. I don’t see Vince sending anyone after him. Because he beat his son, I think he’ll let the choke hold go. He knows if he sends someone after Taker, once Taker is done with him, Taker will come for Vince and Vince doesn’t wanna face that wreath again. Instead, he’ll cut a promo on RAW, perhaps saying he’ll forgive Taker for putting his hands on him because he defeated Shane, but he will definitely explain his happiness for Shane losing.
3. Far fetched is right. I partly agree. I agree that Vince could attempt to screw Taker, essentially turning this into a Mcmahon screw job. But I think WWE will have Taker overcome those odds at a Texas WM event knowing what will happen if they had him lose at the biggest show in his home state. I do not think Vince will fire Taker. Vince had more than enough chances over the years to fire Taker. He never did. Back in 98, Taker chokeslammed Vince and got away with it. Compared to that, a chokehold will not get Taker fired.
- Robyn on March 21st, 2016 says:
@Anan:
Sorry about that.
