Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

    Jim Ross Talks The Undertaker’s Eventual Retirement

    Recently on The Ross Report, ‘Good Ol’ J.R.’ Jim Ross talked about whether he believes The Undertaker will retire any time soon and how to raise the profile of WWE’s secondary titles.

    According to Ross, The Undertaker does not appear to be retiring in the near future.

    “I get this question every day on Twitter. No, I don’t think The Undertaker is going to retire any time soon.”

    Ross went on to say that The Undertaker’s retirement will most likely be the biggest news story of the year, whenever that may be.

    “I think that when he does retire, unless there is complete insanity [that] has engulfed the world of sports entertainment, that it will be the biggest news of the year, the last match for ‘The Deadman’. And I think that last match for ‘The Deadman’ will be at a WrestleMania. When that will happen, I don’t know. [WrestleMania] 33? I don’t know. [WrestleMania] 34? Who knows?”

    While I do not believe Taker wants the attention that comes with the type of retirement fans believe he deserves to have, there’s no denying that Taker does deserve an epic retirement. One that will not be topped by any other retiring WWE employee. If Taker is going to have a ceremony, his is the only one that truly deserves to top Flair’s and WWE should make Taker’s retirement, ceremony or no ceremony, untouchable and untoppable. When that day happens and it gets closer each day remains to be seen.

      I don’t want him to retire at all .
      But this is life .. no one can stay healthy enough to do the same thing at all ages ..
      @anan always Says . Undertaker deserves a retirement .
      Yes I agree . And I hope it comes with a storyline most importantly more than marketing buzz and ceremony for long to sell his merchandise BY WWE and make even more money out of him at his last stage of career.
      His retirement should go come with a great a storyline in which he gets respectful ending to his legendary career.

      @yousif:

      I think fans are greedy. Fans want what they want and throw fits, hijack shows, when they don’t get it. But that is because fans are spoiled. That is mostly the US though. Fans outside the US such as Japan and London for just two examples are more respectful because they are less spoiled as they don’t get WWE live as often as theUS does. The most wrestling in London is their London based indies if they have any and same for Japan which has NJPW. But those fans are still more respectful.

      Taker’s retirement….I know it’s usually not a good idea to give wrestlers control in such a politics heavy industry such as wrestling because wrestlers will more often than not do anything with that of power to just further themselves. But I’d make an exception for Taker if I had the power to. if I were in charge, I’d leave it up to Taker to decide everything surrounding his retirement because he’s more than earned that right. Taker’s a pro who has furthered the business over himself. But hypothetically speaking, if he did use retirement to further himself, I’d let him because he’s done more than he needed to for WWE, even letting his own Streak die. If it was CM Punk, Punk would have walked out before the match took place to keep his WM undefeated streak intact.
