Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

    JR “Assumes” Taker Has One More Match In Him For WM33 And Retirement’s Sooner Than Later

    As noted earlier, the photos below surfaced this week of The Undertaker standing on crutches. Jim Ross was asked about the photos in the Q&A section of his website and if it means that Taker is done wrestling. JR replied:

    “Nope. Taker will retire when he’s ready but I assume that well might be sooner than later. I could see one more bout at WM33 but I’m assuming.”

    Unless something serious prevents it, I think it’s safe to say WM33 will be the event where the match originally scheduled for WM32 – Taker vs Cena – takes place. Happening at WM33 is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because WWE and the fans get another Undertaker match at WM. But a curse because Taker has to perform at yet another WM a year after probably the most fitting site for him to end his career did not include an ideal final opponent as Cena was injured and every other candidate worthy of being his final opponent were preoccupied with various ongoings at the time.

      the undertaker will retire when he gets ready too and before he does I hope that the wwe will resurrect him back to the old classic original deadman one last time that would be awesome for sure but I also like to say one more thing I think that the undertaker will be back for wrestlemania 33 next year and I hope he will face john cena that will be a great match to see and watch does anybody agree I hope so.

      All I know is this. Undertaker will retire when he is ready and 100% on his own terms (barring any unforseen injuries i.e something like Daniel Bryan, Edge etc). When, where, whatever incarnation of his character he decides to come back as is purely up to Taker and we owe that to him. Like the old school say of the WWF/E states “Anything can happen in the WWF/E”. Undertaker is a legend, icon, 100% first ballot Hall of Famer. He literally deserves his own wing of the Hall of Fame.

      @john peeler:

      As much as I wanna see classic Taker, I don’t know. Seems to me WWE had multiple opportunities to go in that direction and decided not to do so. WM20, 2004 against kane and considering the stroyline as well as the return of Paul Bearer and the recreation of the WM14 entrance with the druids holding up the torches while Taker walked through them was the best time for such a resurrection. WM30, celebrating 30 years of Wrestlemania, WM31, WM32, also great opportunities WWE didn’t take. Special episodes of RAW like RAW 1000 would’ve been a nice time but Old School RAW would have been a fitting place for old school classic Taker. But again WWE avoided that direction.

      @Mike B.

      “When, where, whatever incarnation of his character he decides to come back as is purely up to Taker”

      Agreed. But Vince has the final say until he steps down an decides to give the final say to HHH for such decisions.

      Taker will do one more match.and if you take a good look at the picture the crutches are not undertakers.but from the woman next to him she has a broken foot.

      It will be cool if Taker gets inducted into the next HOF… wrestle Sting and retires similar to Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair… everyone wants Taker vs Sting so this will be an awesome way of sending the Phenom off.

    • Anan on October 18th, 2016 says:

      @Adrian:

      The only thing that’s really stopping this match from happening is WWE clearing Sting for the match. As much as I wanna see it, seems as if WWE may have moved on. I don’t think they’ll clear Sting out of concern for his health. Even if they did clear him, his condition won’t get better and will worsen if he wrestled again. I don’t think Taker wants Sting to risk it and we don’t know at this point how many more matches he’s got in him. If it is just one more, will Taker want that one more match with Sting, Cena or someone else? My guess? Cena.
