Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The Undertaker Reportedly Undergoes Recent Surgery, JR comments on Taker’s Status

There’s a lot of speculation on The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania 33 as he reportedly underwent surgery recently.

PWInsider reports that The Deadman was using those crutches to walk because he recently had hip surgery.

No word yet on exactly when Taker had the surgery but he apparently attended a wedding the first week of September and did not have the crutches.

    ——————————————————————————————————————————

JR updated the Q&A section on his website recently and answered many question that centered on Taker, some of which regarding topics such his current status, WM33 and retirement:

    DemonOFDaytona Asks:
Hey JR. Long time fan and even bigger fan of the chipotle ketchup! Quick question (sorry if it’s been asked to death). A lot of buzz recently about undertaker on crutches. My question isn’t about him wrestling or anything. Is he ok? I’m just concerned as a long time fan, I don’t like to see those things. Also, what’s the relationship like between taker and lesnar? Have always wondered. Seemed like they had heat but then others say they get along great. Was always just curious. Thanks so much for answering all the fans questions. And thanks for the bbq sauce!
    J.R.’s Answer:
I am unaware of any issues between Taker and Lesnar and I am of the mindset that they both have a great deal of respect for each other. Apparently, Taker had a minor hip procedure done that placed him on crutches for the time being.

    LFCRHB Asks:
Do you think undertaker has retired ?
    J.R.’s Answer:
No…not until he says that he is.

    Taker1993 Asks:
Hi Jim, undertaker is my favorite wrestler of all time and it amazes me at his age that he still delivers top quality matches that even exceed the younger talents at times, knowing taker like you do is he that passionate about what he does to be able to perform like he does and adapt every year? Thanks
    J.R.’s Answer:
Taker is a legit athlete who loves to compete & perform. A great motor motivates him.

    Joeymurphy97 Asks:
who do you think undertaker will face at maina or who would you like to see him face
    J.R.’s Answer:
Gosh, I have no idea but it will be a top hand one would assume. Theres no guarantee that he will be the card but I’d bet that he is.

    bigdan316 Asks:
J.R, My soon-to-be bride (October 23rd) gifted me last night a WWE Network subscription so I watched the HHH documentary Thy Kingdom Come and I have to say one of the highlights was the Undertaker’s commentary. I know how private a man he is but I think he could be an excellent broadcaster when he hangs up the boots.
    J.R.’s Answer:
While Taker is articulate and a good communicator I don’t see him as a weekly broadcaster.

    Joeymurphy97 Asks:
Do you see undertaker in a match at next years maina ?
    J.R.’s Answer:
That is my assumption…time will tell.

    • Anan on October 20th, 2016 says:

Taker has pinned Lesnar twice on Smackdown in 2003. The first time was in a 3-Way involving Big Show. The other was in a handicap match where Show & Lesnar were a team. Taker also has another Smackdown 2003 victory of certain sorts over Lesnar, but it’s an off air fight between them that involves a chain for those really keeping the complete score.

hope to see taker back soon

Undertaker has been through some wars physically over the years so it should come as no surprise. What is remarkable is at 51 he can still take major bumps, and also hit most of his move-sets.

    • karentaker on October 26th, 2016 says:

There are also photos on the web of Taker in full wrestling attire walking around unaided the Cavalier’s locker room. Notice Michelle and Ultimate Warrior’s widow are there with him?

    • Anan on October 26th, 2016 says:

      @BillyofMaryland:

All true. Also remarkable is despite his age and the wear and tear on his body due to the years of wrestling, he is still better looking and better in the ring than most wrestlers out there today. Taker does not have to shorten his career by doing today’s career shortening style that is rapidly becoming the wrestling norm. Speaking of looks, he also looks far batter at 51 than ordinary people do at younger age.

      @karentaker:

Yes! Posted the article and some pics.
