Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

    Undertaker Confirmed (Officially By WWE) For Smackdown Appearance

    WWE has officially announced the word from the Mohegan Sun Arena that the Undertaker will be appearing at November 15th’s episode of Smackdown in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The episode is the final one before Survivor Series and the show’s 900th episode. The official announcement reads as follows:

    The Undertaker returns for SmackDown’s landmark 900th episode
    As SmackDown celebrates its milestone 900th episode at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Nov. 15, The Deadman rises to commemorate the momentous occasion, appearing in Wilkes Barre, Pa., for the first time in a decade.

    The Undertaker has long been a cornerstone of Team Blue, and his emergence on this special episode of SmackDown LIVE is undoubtedly linked to The Phenom’s storied history with the brand. This marks The Undertaker’s first appearance in a WWE ring since he defeated SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32, so whatever The Deadman has planned, mere days before Raw and SmackDown LIVE collide at Survivor Series, you won’t want to miss it.

    The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE airs Nov. 15 at 8/7 C on USA Network.

    If anyone’s attending, some pics and videos would be appreciated. Taker’s appearances are rarer and rarer and in the tail end of the twilight phase of his career, chances are slimming down to see him so take your opportunities while you can 🙂

      So, either Randy and the Wyatts are coming out or AJ… if we believe what Meltzer says. I wouldn’t mind if it was AJ… But I’ m still holding up for Sting at Mania 🙁

    • Thomas on November 4th, 2016 says:

      Who wouldn’t want an epic bout between Taker and Sting? I think everyone knows it could easily be one of the best rivalries not only in years but in whole WWE and wrestling history. But that is the last what we can hope for these times. AJ Styles? That could be awesome too. If this whole Smackdown Taker thing is supposed to throw some light on WM33 a segment with Wyatts and/or Orton makes no sense since Taker fought them at WM 31 and 21 respectively.

    • Anan on November 4th, 2016 says:

      @Thomas:

      Remember RAW 900? Taker was take out by The Nexus. Did he face any member of The Nexus at the following Wrestlemania, WM27? Everyone thought because The Nexus took him out, he’d face their leader, Wade Barrett. But nope. He met HHH. Remember RAW 1,000? Taker came out to help out Kane fend off some mid card jobbers even though none of those jobbers faced him at the following Wrestlemania, WM29. He met CM Punk.

      Too early to start Taker’s WM build now. He won’t be present every week to continue. I think it’s best they wait till January-February of next year to start his build because by then the Road to WM would have already begun, probably meaning WWE are set on his opponent whereas now they still may be in the planning stages of deciding who that is. My guess is Cena simply because it did not happen last year. But Cena’s off filming American Grit and like last year I don’t think he’ll be back till sometime in December.

      All that said, makes perfect sense for Taker to be involved in the Kane/Wyatt/Orton segment to even the odds for Kane.

      As for AJ, he’s been talking in interviews a lot lately talking about Orton and HBK when the question of dream matches or anyone he’d like to face on the roster comes up. Orton also stated on Twitter he’d like to work with AJ Styles. These comments are usually teases for an upcoming match. That may mean we’ll see Orton vs AJ at WM. I suspect this Orton/Wyatt angle will be over by then. If the angle isn’t done by WM, then that might mean Orton vs Bray Wyatt or maybe a tag team match where Kane & Orton face Bray & Harper.

      Sting….would love to see Taker vs Sting. But I don’t think Vince wants it so unlikely it happens. WWE had their best opportunity at WM31. They went in a different direction. With Sting’s neck problems, the match that was already unlikely has become even more unlikely. Vince has no interest in it.

    • Thomas on November 4th, 2016 says:

      Of course I remember that and I totally get what you say. What I’m saying is there is no sense in making a Taker and Orton/Wyatt segment if he’s going to face him/them at WM33. He already did fought them at two different WM’s. But if he’s going to fight some other wrestler at WM33, then that’s another story.

      @anan
      i get your point.. i respect it and i think you are right..
      but what i think also is this time its a bit different.. raw 900.. taker was still a semi schedule performer.. he was in a feud with kane…. raw1000 he did make a one night appearance only.. but he wasn’t officially announced..
      this time he is officially announced by wwe. and wwe kinda tease that taker has planned somthing or whatever.. its just my opinion.. we will wait and see..

    • KeyserSözeCDW on November 7th, 2016 says:

      I know this won’t happen but I would like Taker to come out and knock Orton and Brays heads together. They are both far better than the current Wyatt Family Angle. Scripted and pushed right, BW could be a wrestler to take over from Taker in the sense of the supernatural mythos they aim for, he works it well (IMO). They have squandered sooo many chances at that!. Orton knows how to work the crowd and has charisma, he will be wasted there.

    • Anan on November 12th, 2016 says:

      @jishva:

      You have some fair points there yourself 🙂

      My friends & I have been discussing this and they believe Taker will team with Kane in a tag team match so that he can compete while his workload is lessened. As much as I’d love that, I don’t know…..if this does happen, it could be an off air match for the live crowd.

      As far as a TV appearance is concerned, I can see it more likely that Taker will just make his way out, chokeslam, leave. Who will be the receiver of the chokeslam? Could be Curt Hawkins. WWE’s built up his return through vignettes, but since returning, he hasn’t done anything important. I could see him cutting a promo to be interrupted by Taker or quickly finishing a match, win or lose, only to be chokeslammed afterwards by Taker.

      Remember also when Taker chokeslammed King Barrett on the UK SD a year or so ago, it was off air, for the crowd only. WWE teases what they will. But it doesn’t always work out as advertised. I don’t know if you were watching WWE in the early 90’s, 1992 and 1993 specifically. They advertised for weeks on TV through Wrestling Challenge, Superstars, etc, matches for WM8 and WM9. WM9 did not have the advertised Kamala vs Bam Bam Bigelow. WM8 did not have the advertised British Bulldog vs Berzerker. It shows ads are made and aired in advance to draw people in and once people are in, WWE does what they really intend to. It could also be that the advertised matches didn’t happen due to time constraints which is fine but they could have happened on TV or as a Coliseum Home Video bonus match (Summerslam 92 had 3 unadvertised bonus matches), but to my knowledge, Kamala/Bam Bam and Bulldog/Berzerker didn’t happen at all from a televised aspect.

      Hey everyone, I am back! I am sorry I haven’t been on here for months now since we last saw the Undertaker on TV. Now, he is back on TV and that’s why I am back as well! I loved the segment that he did just now on the 900th edition of Smackdown Live. He said Wrestlemania won’t define me, he’s taking souls and digging holes! I loved it! I guess, he is showing at Survivor Series because he said Team Raw will rest in peace! Now to his Wrestlemania 33 opponent, that is still to be determined because he didn’t mention that in his segment. We are still five months away from Wrestlemania 33, so it is still early yet. Anyway, I loved to see him back and I am back as well because of his return to TV!!! Undertaker’s the best!!! 🙂

    • Mark Petrick on November 16th, 2016 says:

      The Undertaker also said that he is back on tv for a period of time. He also warned Team Smackdown that if they fail on Sunday, they will have a reason to fear because of the Deadman. It does look like the Undertaker will be at Survivor Series Sunday Night. I guess that means that he is on the Smackdown Roster for good now and we will only see him on Smackdown and not Raw? We will have to see about that. Great return though by the Phenom, the Deadman, the Undertaker!!! 🙂
