The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

Backstage Update On Potential WrestleMania 33 Plans For The Undertaker, Braun Strowman, More

With less than 100 days until WrestleMania 33, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE officials have locked in just three matches – Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins and Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. Another probable is a multi-person match for the RAW Women’s Title.

While a potential match with John Cena vs. The Undertaker was somewhat acknowledged on this week’s SmackDown, Vince McMahon has not decided on that match but it is possible.

Regarding The Undertaker’s match, the likely opponent is Cena but current WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns is also being considered with the feeling that Reigns is the future and Cena vs. Taker doesn’t build for the future, and this could be Taker’s last WrestleMania match. If Cena wins the WWE Title from AJ Styles or Reigns wins the Universal Title from Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble, it looks like Taker could be in line for a title shot in Orlando. Taker has not been announced for the Royal Rumble main event next month but potential WrestleMania scenarios would make him a favorite.

Braun Strowman is another favorite to win the Rumble, indicating a win by Reigns over Owens at the Rumble to set up Braun vs. Reigns at WrestleMania. The storyline between Owens and Chris Jericho has been brewing for months and it’s believed they will face off at WrestleMania but that hasn’t been confirmed.

Just bc he’s a favorite doesn’t mean he’ll be at the RR. If he does show up there, I think he’ll interrupt the Cena/AJ winning celebration like he did in 2006 when he returned at the RR that year to challenge Kurt Angle for the WHC. While I don’t want AJ’s title run to end at Cena’s hands and I don’t think it will as Cena doesn’t need to be champion any longer and is a part-timer now, if he did win the title, then Taker, who also doesn’t need anymore titles would be able to have one more title win by defeating Cena at WM if the match happens.

I see the reasoning behind Taker vs Roman Reigns. But am not favorable to it right now. Would be a different story of Reigns was heel as the fans/ boos have been telling WWE to do but they have yet to listen.

Last match and a championship match .
Win the match and retire as a champion like Trish the greatest female wrestler ever .. did …
It’s good to see the greatest male wrestler ever also do the same ..

If it’s between Cena and Roman. I prefere Cena

You are aware aren’t you that every year people have been treating Taker’s match at WM as “his last match” and while one day it will surely be it has yet to be. I’ve learned not to go into a Taker match as his last match until it simply is his last match, not bc websites say so bit because he’s chosen to retire. We don’t know that WM33’s his chosen place for that.

Oh !@#$ off. HBK vs. Taker didn’t build for the future either. Neither did Rock vs. Hogan. Some matches just need to happen because they’re fucking iconic. Cena vs Taker at this point would tear the house down, they’ve barely interacted in the last decade-plus. Screw Roman Reigns. If not Cena, then it should be Owens.

Oh yeah. What happened with “Crock” Lesnar at Survivor Series, eh? Beaten in under 5 minutes? Sound like to me he couldn’t wrestle a swarm of flies that night. Never mind Bill Goldberg!

    • Anon+ on January 3rd, 2017 says:

This all sounds very dreadful. Cena winning over Styles is completely repugnant, Reigns winning over Owens sounds awfully boring. I hope neither of those scenarios happen and whoever ‘Taker faces is a good opponent for him.

      instead of a match v reigns,I’d rather have Taker v Y2J or Taker/Wyatt II….just not a fan of Reigns.
