Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

Jim Ross Q & A: Reigns Vs. Taker Related Material

Here’s some of the latest Taker related questions on Jim Ross Q&A section. We’ll have more of these as we draw closer to WrestleMania 33.

    Boomer Sooner Asks:
JR, last night Roman Reigns said he was going to ‘retire’ the Undertaker. Do you think they are actually planning for this to be ‘Taker’s last match and for him to go out getting pinned by Reigns? I realize that even the biggest stars in wrestling go out on their backs in their last match, but this might upset ‘Taker’s fans and cause Reigns to be resented. but again if it really is ‘Taker’s last match, does the company have anything to gain from him winning? How would you handle this match? would you have Reigns lose?

    J.R.’s Answer:
Simple, storyline bravado. When Taker retires, as I’ve said dozens of times, we will all know about it in advance.

    Ahmed Chowdhury Asks:
A person mentioned before in a question how it would be like for us to see Goldberg and Brock Lesnar as a tag team. I am thinking about a tag team match between the Undertaker and Sting vs AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. Do you think we might be able to see a tag team of the Undertaker and Sting? Thanks.

    J.R.’s Answer:
No…considering that Sting is finished as an in ring talent.

    TakerMania Asks:
Hi JR, I have no problem with Taker vs Reings at WM. Its a fresh match up and hopefully WWE will use it for a heel turn for Reings. However seeing that Cena is available why not use him to face Taker? Fans have been calling for it, whats the issue? Perhaps saving it for Takers’ last match?

    J.R.’s Answer:
It simply wasn’t the direction that WWE decided to travel but I don’t know why. The goal is to get Reigns over as Cena is already a made man. I see why WWE booked this as they did. It’s hard for some Taker tans to accept that this WM isn’t about the Deadman, in all due respect.

    Taker1993 Asks:
Hi Jim, I don’t see this wrestlemania match ending the career of the undertaker do you? in other words do you think this will be his last wrestlemania or not?

    J.R.’s Answer:
I do not think that this is going to be Taker’s last WM. When Taker decides to retire it likely won’t be a secret by any stretch.

    undertaker4ever Asks:
Hey JR I believe a positive step towards Reigns no matter the goals can effectively be achieved even if Reigns were to lose the match against Taker at WM bc as it’s been proven on numerous occasions that regardless of the match outcome Taker is skilled at getting talent over & elevated. Your thoughts please?

    J.R.’s Answer:
read my latest blog for more on this topic.

    TakerMania Asks:
Greetings from South Africa, Its funny how The Undertaker does not have to utter a word but we the fans still go crazy for the Deadman. Taker brings this unique aura… WWE segments with Taker always feel like ‘Must watch’. With that said, I am looking forward to Taker vs Reigns at WM. However I don’t want to see Taker losing again at a WM. I think Taker can get the win but a bitter Reigns attacks him post match and Reigns walks out while Undertaker is down. Your thoughts please.

    J.R.’s Answer:
Certainly that could work and just as certain we know that fans will likely raise hell no matter the creative direction that is followed. The goal will be to take a positive step forward with the younger talent, Reigns.

    undertaker4ever Asks:
Hey JR I’m not understanding the mindset of having Roman go over Taker at WM to turn Roman heel. If it’s a heel turn WWE is gonna do, I’m all for it but there’s other ways to do that then by turning him heel at Taker’s expense. 1. Turn him heel before WM. Verbally and/or physically have him attack Taker and/or any other beloved talent. 2. Turn him AT WM. He can turn heel during the match or even before by costing someone else their match and during an interview state he did so to prove Taker is not the threat to hom that Taker and these stupid people are too gullible to believe he is. 3. Lose to Taker, attack Taker after the match is over.

    J.R.’s Answer:
Pro wrestling finishes are subjective and there’s always more than one, right way to execute them.

I don’t know why people don’t accept taker will shoot for “25-1” as it makes perfect sense

      @dhanish1979

I don’t think it’s necessarily about accepting of going for “25-1″. ‘Taker is one of the last of the”old school” generation of wrestlers. He’s at the point of his career where he doesn’t need another victory at WrestleMania to bolster his already HOF career. He also all for putting that younger talent over in any way he can and how he sees fit.

I kind of think that people should stop asking JR about Taker stuff. He seems to get so much, maybe more than any other, and definitely a lot of the same questions. Leave that topic alone when it comes to JR, already lol.
