Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

    Kane Comments On Takers’ Retirement

Kane’s run with WWE has been one of the longest in the history of the company, and he’s worked closely with The Undertaker. Together as the Brothers of Destruction, Kane and The Undertaker ran the tag team division in WWE, but after the events that took place at WrestleMania 33 last Sunday it appears Taker has retired.

Gulf News recently caught up with Kane at Middle East Film And Comic Con 2017, and they asked him about The Undertaker’s big send off at WrestleMania, and he says it feels like a chapter of his career has closed.

“Well, Undertaker can take care of himself! We all knew at some point that was inevitable, but nevertheless it’s, sad because for me it’s like a chapter has closed, and I think a lot of WWE fans feel the same way.”

Kane has been away from the ring for a while now, as he’s been busy focusing on his insurance company and potential political career, but it doesn’t seem like his in ring career is over just yet. When asked about his in ring return he said that he wouldn’t reveal the date even if he did know.

“That is, as we say in the States, TBD, to be determined. And I wouldn’t want to ruin any surprises if I did know…”

Over the course of his career Kane has worked with the best of the best, and he was also asked which guys he think will make an impact in WWE. He praised a few stars on the roster and also named Samoa Joe as someone to keep an eye on.

“I don’t know, because that’s very hard to tell. NXT is a great product and certainly has already had a huge impact on our business. I mean guys like The Shield, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, all these guys who have come through. Samoa Joe of course is going to make a huge impact.”

      To Anan,mike and rest

To be honest i don’t expect taker to come back but business has its own saying never say never,To my understanding how can athlete come back from hip replacement from any sports?I think brother love was drunk when he commented on taker’s return doesnt matter if he is close to taker,Fingers crossed. So far vince is keeping quiet, sounds fishy

I honestly can’t accept that Taker MIGHT be retired. I think when he has gone through that surgery, gets better and in shape, he will come back and surprise us all. We haven’t heard anything about this thing from WWE and until we do, i’m keeping my hopes up.
Thanks for reading and i apologize if my english isn’t perfect. Main reason for that is that i’m from Finland.

Its sad to see him retire. But upon watching old footage from the 90’s with the theatrics and great story lines,etc..its evident that era is long gone and the Undertaker doesnt really fit this new WWE era.WWE has become lazy and boring over the past several years and Taker hasnt really had any real story lines in years. He shows up for one match and disappears. No RAW followups to his matches,etc..Seeing him these last several years have made me feel like Im trying to grasp something that isnt there no more.Damn I miss the old days 🙁

Kc is sort of right. Now-a-days, wrestling pushes more merch, with less story behind the wrestling. So although they’ve always pushed merch, there’s less of a reason to pay attention to who’s wrestling whom. Instead of “Wrestler A representing the working man, going up against Wrestler B who is an aristocrat, and building it up to being a war of the classes” they have “Wrestler A who is there, and Wrestler B who is over there…will do some flips that look cool”.

As far as Taker not fitting, that’s some what the point. I would even say that back when more theatrics were used, he didn’t fit, and that’s why he lasted longer than others like him. It seemed some how a little less cartoon-ish with Taker. I’m thinking if he was making his debut all over again in this time, he’d find a place for himself…it just wouldn’t be the same type of packaging.

@dhanish1979: That would be great if its true.I thought the match with Romans was good, despite what others say. However Taker was a bit overweight.Would be nice to see him get into shape and go out the exact way he came in-at SS wearing his original attire.Taker said Wrestlemania would no longer define him.So may this SS match is true

    • dhanish1979 on April 18th, 2017 says:

@James:it all depends how the hip surgery goes by,as xpac and brother love did say taker will have one more match.the undertaker is still active under current superstar of wwe official site but i dont know why sting is removed from active page, sting has not announced his retirement yet,did he?

    • Frank on April 18th, 2017 says:

@dhanish1979 Sting did announced his retirement during his Hall Of Fame Speech in 2016… However since then Sting has said he had not got any surgery in hopes he can have 1 more match… But with Undertaker down and mostly retire it safe to saying will not come out of retirement. As he wanted to wrestle The Undertaker…

    • Shehzad on April 19th, 2017 says:

I feel the Undertaker will return as American Badass if his surgery goes successful.

    • Thomas on April 21st, 2017 says:

If Undertaker wanted to retire due to loss at WM, I think it should be Kane. It’s his on-screen half brother, he’s believable and he’s got some of the greatest segments/build-ups with Taker. I think it’s just not right that Taker loses to someone who doesn’t have the it factor and is hated by pretty much everyone for his lack of skills and much more essential, very important in sports-entertainment/wrestling things. I feel like Kane should be his final opponent, if not the returning HBK. Imagine that – One brother retiring his other brother with assistance of druids, using a casket etc. Or a return of probably his greatest rival, HBK. And this time HBK would get the job done, legends and superstars would come to the ring and salute The Undertaker ’till he descends to his home.
