Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

Jim Ross Drops Hint On Possible Taker Return

The rumors of The Undertaker’s return to WWE and possible SummerSlam appearance continue to bubble.

In a recent interview with Wrestlezone, WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, had a lot to say about The Undertaker’s current standing in WWE. According to Good Ol’ JR, The Deadman may still be alive:

“Until he says he’s done he’s not done. I think Vince McMahon is a marketing genius. He’s not going to miss any opportunity to monetize and maximize this amazing investment in this legacy of The Undertaker. Until The Undertaker says he’s done and it’s validated by the company and is signed off in that essence, for lack of a better term, I still say Undertaker is active and could return and wrestle at any time.”

Yesterday, a very interesting photo was getting passed around the internet. To say the least, it has SummerSlam implications

A fan snapped a photo of The Undertaker boarding a plane in Texas that was destined for New York. For those unaware, WWE’s second-biggest show of the year, SummerSlam, will take place in Brooklyn, NY, tomorrow. It looks like The Undertaker will be there.

Before we lose our minds, it’s worth underlining that Taker may just be going to hang out backstage or do some sort of autograph appearance. In no way does this mean he will get physical at Sunday’s show. Then again, he may. Here’s the photo:

This tweet is all we can verify. For all we know, the fan that took this is on a plane to Chicago and is having a riot as he trolls the entire wrestling community.

However, if this, in fact, is The Undertaker boarding a plane to New York, there’s endless speculation to address. If he is to make an on camera appearance we’d have to imagine it affecting Roman Reigns in some form or fashion.

The Big Dog effectively retired the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. The show’s closing image was The Deadman leaving his coat, hat and gloves in the middle of the ring, a metaphor that was hard to confuse. We all thought that we’d never see the Undertaker in the ring again. While WWE never confirmed that Undertaker was indeed retired, it sure felt official.

However, maybe the door is still open.

Best known for The Streak, an unprecedented run of 21 straight victories at WWE’s Showcase of The Immortals, WrestleMania, he sustained his first loss at WrestleMania XXX to Brock Lesnar. The Phenom defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF World Heavyweight Champion in 1991, and has won the WWF/WWE Championship four times and the WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship three times. He also won the 2007 Royal Rumble.

While you can argue where The Undertaker ranks on the all-time list of WWE Superstars, he is undoubtedly the greatest professional wrestling character in this history of the business. Had anyone but Mark Callaway been given the assignment of being an old west mystical undertaker, the gimmick could have died out by the mid-90s.

Year after year, The Undertaker has come back to give us the same kind of goosebump inducing ‘Mania moments that we fell in love with as children; which made WrestleMania 33 so surreal.
