Quick Bio

The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE. He is the company's most tenured performer, and he's also the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993. Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in 1984. In 1990, Calaway signed with the World Wrestling Federation and The Undertaker was born. The rest, as they say, was history!

Bruce Prichard On How The Undertaker Is Looking Now And Who He Should Face At WrestleMania

Bruce Prichard was a guest on this week’s Wrestling Inc Podcast with Raj Giri, Glenn Rubenstein, and Chris Featherstone. During the conversation, Giri asked Prichard about his thoughts on his friend The Undertaker wrestling again.

The Undertaker had seemed to retire following last year’s loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. But Prichard wholeheartedly believes we haven’t seen the last of The Deadman. He said The Undertaker will compete at WrestleMania for as long as his body will let him.

“Yes, yes I do,” Prichard said when asked if he thought The Undertaker would step into the ring again. “I always would joke with Undertaker… As long as he could get on a walker and make his way down to the ring, then he will be wrestling at WrestleMania. And he looks better and feels better than he has in 10 years.”

As for who he should face this year at WrestleMania 34, Prichard pondered a few names that will no longer work. He admitted that there are limited choices currently on the WWE roster, but he was able to come up with an opponent for The Undertaker.

“You look at the roster and you look at different people,” he said. “Braun Strowman it won’t be, that would’ve been a nice little face-to-face thing. But for nostalgia, we’re way past the Sting thing, we’re way past doing anything there. I think that would bring Undertaker down unfortunately right now. But maybe John Cena.”

It was recently revealed that Cena and The Undertaker will, in fact, finally face each other at WrestleMania 34. It’s highly likely that the match will be set up during the RAW 25th anniversary on Jan. 22, as both Cena and ‘Taker will be in attendance. As for who should win the match, Prichard believes the answer is obvious.

‘Taker. I always say ‘Taker should win, that’s my answer,” he said adamantly. “‘Taker’s in a match, who should win? ‘Taker!”

I agree with Prichard. As long as Taker’s body allows it, he’s likely to compete. Id age, injuries, nothing left to prove/done all any wrestler can do in WWE were factors, he’d have long been retired by now and we may not have had those back to back epic (for different reasons) WM matches with HBK and HHH and Wm’s 25-18 respectively.

According to reports if anyone believes them, WWE’s been trying to do Taker vs Cena at WM before. It may finally happen this year but I won’t believe it till I see it because I don’t find reports as an accurate source.

Braun Strowman….while I understand why WWE went with Roman Reigns last year for Takers WM opponent, I believe storyline wise, Strowman would have been a better choice. Kane’s currently feuding with Strowman and they could have started that feud by having Kane return at No Mercy, cost Braun the Championship and the next night on RAW, have him say, “I am back and cost Braun Strowman the Championship to get revenge on the man who I believe retired my brother, The Undertaker at WM earlier this year.” I’d prefer that start the feud over the direction they actually went with, who’s the only monster in WWE.

Taker should win….I’d love it as would many fans. But Taker’s old school mentality of going out on your back may not allow him to go along with that. I’m a fan of Taker in the sense that I may not like everything he does, but if he’s ok with it, then I shouldn’t have a problem with it. Him losing is one of those things that fits into what I’m saying here. I don’t like that he lost The Streak and lost to Reigns and if he loses to Cena. But WWE isn’t his life. He has a life outside WWE. If losing The Streak bothered him, he’d tell Vince that he’s done as it was by all accounts Vince’s decision for Taker to lose The Streak at WM30. But he didn’t. That tells me even if he wasn’t ok with it at first, he’s over it and has moved on.

Undertaker v Strowman at WM would be a fun match.
